Interrupting Racism began in 2016 as a series of online workshops that Nikki Blak created and facilitated with her best friend, hip hop womanist and cultural anthropologist, Ebony Janice.

Since that time, it has evolved from an engaging, humanizing, liberatory curriculum to a series of events and programs designed to create critical discourse about systemic oppression and help people gain information and access tools to resist hegemonic ideologies while dismantling the systems they create and perpetuate.

Interrupting Racism is a framework for community education, engagement, and empowerment.

In addition, it is a space in which freedom loving people can gain the support that is critical in maintaining a healthy emotional, spiritual and mental balance while engaging in activism.

In its current and future iteration, Interrupting Racism is a series of forthcoming books and learning materials as well as community and online workshops, written and facilitated by Nikki Blak.

Interrupting Racism will continue to build on the framework and carry out the mission that was established by its co-founders in 2016.
